There’s nothing like grilling on a warm summer day—but did you know 𝗝𝘂𝗹𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 #𝟭 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗴𝗿𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝗲𝘀?
Your OVFRD team wants everyone to enjoy the season safely, so before you light that grill, check out these quick tips:
𝗕𝗘 𝗣𝗥𝗘𝗣𝗔𝗥𝗘𝗗:
- Keep your grill clean — grease = fire hazard
- Have a spray bottle or extinguisher close by
- Grill at least 10 feet away from your home or deck
- Check gas grills for leaks before each use
𝗪𝗛𝗜𝗟𝗘 𝗚𝗥𝗜𝗟𝗟𝗜𝗡𝗚:
- Always grill outside — never indoors or in garages
- Use long-handled tools to prevent burns
- Stay with the grill the entire time it’s hot
- Avoid grilling under the influence
- Keep kids & pets at least 3 feet away
𝗔𝗙𝗧𝗘𝗥 𝗚𝗥𝗜𝗟𝗟𝗜𝗡𝗚:
- Let coals cool completely, then place them in a metal container
- Store propane tanks upright, outside, and well-ventilated
- Keep decorations and flammable items away
- Never grill on porches or balconies, and don’t cover until fully cooled
