The Big Boom at Great Meadow Event Center – July 4, 2026If you choose to use legal consumer fireworks (ground-based fountains and sparklers only), remember these important safety tips:
Only adults should ignite fireworks. Keep a bucket of water or hose nearby. Use fireworks on a flat, open surface away from buildings and dry grass. Keep children and spectators a safe distance away. Never relight a firework that doesn’t go off. Soak all used fireworks in water before placing them in a metal container for disposal.
Remember: Fireworks that fly into the air, explode, or shoot projectiles are illegal in Virginia unless used by licensed professionals.Let’s all do our part to keep this Independence Day safe for our families, neighbors, and first responders.
